Original SIGNATURE of President PAUL KRUGER (1888) of the Zuid Afrikaansche Republiek

The signature is on an official document regarding the Farm Rietpan near “district Marico” “Wijk Boschveld” 42 miles from Zeerust.

There is a 5 cm tear running into the President’s signature on the right lower corner of the document which could be restored at the back but I left it as is.

Overall the document is in fairly fine condition.

The document comes with a huge book entitled Historic Tableaux on Tiles - Historiese Tablo's Op Teels published by the South African Railways and Airways According to an internet source …”14 ceramic tile tableaux featuring battles from the Boer War and Boer Generals were discovered beneath the wallpaper of the old Victoria Theatre in Amsterdam in 1969. These were typically 1.5m w x 2.3m h. The scenes had been painted by Cornelius de Bruyn. Dr Punt of the Simon van der Stel Foundation secured the tiles for South Africa. Exhibited in the T.P.A. building in Pretoria in 1970 they were acquired by P.W. Botha who was then Minister of Defence and are now housed in the Boer War Museum in Bloemfontein. Size: Elephant Folio

Only three of the 14 plates are shown below

There are also three large Africana Museum reprints entitled Hottentot Square, a Boor’s House and View of Lion’s Head.

Because of the huge size of the parcel, courier cost will be R150 to cities and R200 to other towns in South Africa.

No overseas bidders please.

I offer a 100% 7-day money back guarantee
