I THINK THIS IS A VERY WEIRD ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING - BUT MAYBE THAT IS JUST BECAUSE I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE SYMBOLISM OR STORY BEHIND IT. IT IS PAINTED ON ARTISTS BOARD AND IS A VERY WELL EXECUTED DEPICTION OF A MAN PLAYING AN ORGAN IN AN OLD HOUSE. NEXT TO HIM IS AN OPEN WINDOW AND OUTDIDE THE WINDOW THERE IS A STRANGE FIGURE DRESSED IN BLACK. THE ORGAN PLAYER APPEARS TO BE VERY PALE AND SICKLY. THE PAINTING IS IN GOOD CONDITION BUT THERE IS SOME DAMAGE TO THE VERY ORNATE GILT FRAME (SEE LAST IMAGE BELOW). THE PAINTING AS SOLD IS SHOWN ABOVE. SEE FURTHER IMAGES FOR MORE PARTICULARS.

THE PAINTING PHOTOGRAPHED WITH A MATCH BOX IN THE CENTRE TO GIVE AN INDICATION OF RELATIVE SIZE. IT IS A LARGE PAINTING AND MEASURES 55 x 65 cm WITH FRAME AND 40 x 50 cm WITHOUT FRAME.

Damage to frame

THE PAINTING HAS A VERY NICE ORNATE GILDED FRAME, BUT THERE IS DAMAGE TO THE CORNERS. THE CORNER WITH THE WORST DAMAGE IS SHOWN HERE.
