21 cm high 13 cm wide. Heavy thick wavy glass in star pattern with thin neck. Quality. Weighs 1.85 kg!
Solid Swedish Stylish. Stella Polaris range personally designed by Vicke Lindstrand for the Orrefors label. Fantastic mid-century item from the 1950s.
Hand etched signature on bottom: "Orrefors. Marks for Vicke Lindstrand , model number 2257 ( year is 1954 ).
Vicke Lindstrand was one of the top Swedish glass designers and worked for Orrefors for a lot of his career. He has his own Wikipedia page.
Condition is very good with no nicks or cracks. One slight small scratch near bottom. See photos. Slight frosting inside from limescale.
You don't see this when the vase is filled with water.
A seller in Denmark is currently asking R11000 for a pair of these on ebay, same marks!! , identical to this one. So I think my price is reasonable. The price has also been reduced.
