VERY RARE ITEM!!

ANTIQUE ORTHODOX CIBORIUM - used in the Church to store the consecrated hosts of the sacrament of HOLY COMMUNION !!

This particular item is from the former USSR - Russian Orthodox and is antique - circa late 18th early 19th century and it once was a religious instrument within an Orthodox Church

"A CIBORIUM is a vessel, referring to a large covered cup designed to hold hosts for, and after, the EUCHARIST, thus the equivalent for the bread of the CHALICE for the wine" - ie: as the chalice is to the wine, so the Ciborium is to the bread

This is such a BEAUTIFUL item that words here will NOT adequately describe it so I have included as many pics as possible

The Ciborium is in PERFECT condition with NO breakages whatsoever and NO rust. There is only Antique patina
