Gilt motif to the front board. Blind-stamped framing to the front and back boards with emblem at each corner.
Gilt titling to the spine with five raised bands.
Blue marbled end-papers with a school presentation plate to the front end-paper (1911). 
Marbled decoration to the paperblock edges.
Some cracking to the front end-paper hinges.
Heavy foxing to the end-papers and front outer pages with occasional foxing throughout.
Colour frontispiece and a further 19 colour plates throughout all with tissue guards.
Pages xvi + 498 with six maps and including index.
