Out Of Ireland is the story of Irish popular music from 1950 to the present day told by the artists, songwriters, producers and executives who made it all happen. It tells of the dramatic evolution from a grey, conservative culture to a vibrant, colourful music scene which has an enormous popularity and influence completely out of proportion to the size of the country. Originally produced as a six part TV documentary series produced and directed by David Heffernan for RTE, it was broadcast under the title From A Whisper To A Scream. Now being released on DVD, it runs as one continuous programme featuring rare archive footage, exclusive interviews and live performance clips. Featured artists include Van Morrison, U2, Bob Geldof, The Pogues, Sinead O?Connor, The Corrs, Thin Lizzy, Rory Gallagher, Clannad and The Cranberries.| Publisher: | Eagle Vision |
