From the Hottentots-Holland mountains and Sir Lowry's Pass in the west, the Overberg landscape unfolds below in a tapestry of mountains, fields and villages. Along the coast, chrashing waves, rocky shores and pristine beaches stretch southwards to where Africa ends at Cape Agulhas, and eastwards to Cape Infanta at the mouth of Breede river. This is the Overberg, a place of diverse and spectacular beauty. It is home to many natural wonders, including the rich variety of plants known as fynbos, magnificent birds, mammals and creatures such as the southern right whale. This title is a reflection of all the elements - history, geography people and folklore.
