Botanical name: Oxalis Triangularis
Commonly known as : Purple Shamrock
Light:
These plants loves bright, indirect light. A spot near a sunny window where it can catch gentle morning sun is perfect. Too much harsh light will bleach the colour, while too little light can make the leaves pale and leggy.
💧 Watering:
Oxalis like their soil slightly moist but never soggy. Water when the top couple of centimetres feel dry. In winter, the plant may rest and die back a little this is totally normal. Reduce watering during that time and resume once new growth appears.
🌡 Temperature & Humidity:
Prefers warmth between 1826 °C and does well in normal household humidity. Keep it away from cold draughts and heat sources like radiators.
🪴 Soil & Repotting:
They enjoy light, free-draining soil. Use our Aroid Mix for perfect balance, or mix Barks Unlimited Potting Soil with Perlite to improve drainage. Add Bark Chips when repotting to keep the mix airy. Repot every couple of years when the clump thickens.
🍃 Fertiliser:
Feed every 46 weeks in spring and summer with Controlled Release Fertiliser or a gentle Organic Fertiliser. It's a fast grower and appreciates a bit of extra nutrition.
🐛 Pests:
Generally pest-free, though aphids can appear on flower stems. A quick spray with insecticidal spray will handle them easily.
