Pair Antique German Solid Silver Serving Spoons (1848)

This lovely, good quality, pair of antique solid silver serving spoons from the early 1800's, was probably made in Germany or Austria and have each been hand engraved with a date and initials on the handle 'E.L.' '1848'. The back of each spoon has the unusual 'zigzag or stitch' (Tremolierstrich) assayers test marks, which are seldom seen, along with the letter 'S' and what looks like 'DPH' for the makers and a 'rampant lion' mark which is probably the town mark. The spoons are in excellent condition and measure 23cm in length x 4,5cm at their widest and together weigh 94,4g.

Please feel free to email me with any queries, and please look closely at the pictures provided as they are of the actual item and form a vital part of the description.
