Large unique antique pair of handpainted artworks on ceramic. Signed E Steele. Please look at the pictures carefully and dont hesitate to ask any questions. These items are in good condition considering their age. The frames are quite dusty and would look good cleaned a little. There are cracks in the molding around the outer frame. None are loose or broken off.
Wiki Info: Edwin Steele and his son Edwin Steele (1839—1919) — distinguished here as Edwin senior and Edwin junior — belonged to a family of ceramic fruit and flower painters. The two Edwins also painted similar still-life arrangements on canvas. Edwin senior's father was Thomas Steel (or Steele, 1770/1771—1850) who was apprenticed at Wedgwood's in 1787.
