Pair of "Dlamini" by Zulu Lulu

This awesome pair of sculpted men stand 40cm high each with great detail and individuality - read about the artist below

The story of Zulu-lulu ceramics began in around 2001 when Trayci, then an established ceramic artist,  enlisted the full time help of her husband Stuart to launch the ruler high raku fired figurines, “The Dlamini’s”, named after their once part time gardener who she took under her wing and tutored in the art of clay. Soon the studio expanded to employ and train 5 more members to the team whilst growing the ceramic studio range.  Taking into consideration the personality of the maker with her designs proved invaluable to Tompkins, who combines an eclectic mix of African culture and cross-hatching of skills from each full time artist into what is a constantly evolving range of studio ceramics. . Working as a team each item is individually hand built, there is no mass production or moulding, so each piece brings with it a life and personality of its own. Together, this dynamic team have met the demands of both local and international standards with their range of collectable raku fired figurines and quirky designer tableware.
