A PAIR OF KOSTA BODA SWEDEN ART GLASS CANDLE HOLDERS. LILAC TINTED WITH AN ACID ETCHED DESIGN.
 
Kosta Boda began in 1742 in the heart of the Swedish forests in the province of Småland. They are well-known for their bold and innovative glassware and glass art, from drinking glasses and bowls to candle holders and sculptures.
 
Acid-etching is a glass fabrication process entailing the treatment of annealed glass sheets with hydrofluoric acid to create a frosted appearance, as well as accompanying specialty designs, such as vertical and horizontal lines, graphics, and other decorative effects.
 
MARKINGS: NO MARKINGS. BUT IT IS CLASSIC KOSTA BODA IN SHAPE AND SIZE. SOME RESIDUE OF STICKER ON BOTTOM.

CONDITION: IN GOOD CONDITION. NO CHIPS. NO CRACKS.
 
KOSTA BODA (1742-): The company's has been around for 276 years. The glassworks of Kosta--the name formed from those of the founders, Generals Koskull and Stael von Holstein--first fired its ovens in 1742, creating everything from bottles to windowpanes to, eventually, home accents. In 1976 the glassworks of Kosta, Boda and Åfors merged to form Kosta Boda AB. This was a reaction to the changed economic climate at the time. In 1989, Kosta Boda and Orrefors merged to form Orrefors Kosta Boda AB. They now include a whole range of glassworks.
