A pair of small, marbelled, milk glass urn vases. The base of one has the embossed number 762-2 and the other 764-4. Although the rest of the base mark is unclear, they were almost certainly made by the Akro Agate company in the US. According to the Kovels' website (http://www.kovels.com/price-guide/glass-price-guide/akro-agate.html?eid=747959), the
"Akro Agate company was founded in Akron, Ohio, in 1911 and moved to Clarksburg, West Virginia, in 1914. The company made marbles and toys. . . . In the 1930s, it began making other products, including vases, lamps, flowerpots, candlesticks, and children's dishes. Most of the glass is marked with a crow flying through the letter A."
Condition good. Height 80 mm; rim diameter 68 mm.
