The papaya plant is considered a tree, though its palmlike trunk, up to 8 metres (26 feet) tall, is not as woody as the designation generally implies. The plant is crowned by deeply lobed leaves, sometimes 60 cm (2 feet) across, borne on hollow petioles (leaf stalks) 60 cm long.

Papaya seeds need soaked warm water (40 - 50 C) for 4 hours. Then the process of germination, next sowing in place of exposed to direct sunlight, and only then planted as well as cared for. Seed shoots out 7 - 15 days, first harvest Papaya start 6 -12 months.

Papaya plants should be planted in full sun and at least 7 to 10 ft (2.13.1 m) away from other plants, buildings, and power lines. In general, planting 2 to 3 papaya plants 7 to 12 ft (2.13.7 m) away from each other will insure that at least one will be fruitful, and it will also facilitate fertilizing and watering.
