Papers of Commandant JN Boshoff (Boer War)
A selection of personal papers of Commandant JN (Koos) Boshoff, a commanding officer during the Anglo-Boer War and one of the dramatis personae from the Boer War concession (Boer War Spectacle), billed as The Greatest and Most Realistic Military Spectacle known in the History of the World, at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition (St. Louis Fair, 1904).
From the Historical Libretto: 'Commandant J. N. Boshoff, who was with De la Rey [De la Rey's Scouts under the command of Boshoff] at the wounding and capture of Lord Methuen, the great British General. Also entrusted with the safe keeping of President Steyn [Steyn's Bodyguard] at the time when President Steyn and General De Wet were so hard pressed by Lord Kitchener from the Free State in to the Transvaal'.

Lewis; original, official Louisiana Purchase Exposition publicity postcard (Worlds Fair In Brief); original RPC of the Stupendous Boer Was Spectacle at Brighton Beach; RPC of the Brooklyn Bridge; and a stereoview of Coney Island; bound in a loose-leaf folder, with research papers, copies of newspaper clippings, and photo reprints of Boshoff and Viljoen's encampment at the St. Louis Fair.
