Paprika is a less pungent pepper. It is a fantasticcooking condiment. Removal of seeds and the thin papery tissues to whichthe seeds are attached can help reduce the strength of pepper or left in forthe palate that enjoys a more spicy flavour.
The paprika pepper grows on a large variety of fertilesoils but thrives best on a warm, mellow, well-drained, sandy loam or clay loamtype. The plant is propagated exclusively from seed, which may be planted inseedbeds or directly in the field. In beds the seed is sown as early in spingas possible, and the seedlings are then ready to be planted in the field assoon as the danger of frost has passed. They are spaced 30 to 45 cm apart, inrows 75 to 100 cm apart. Cultivate frequently to keep weeds from competingwith your plants. Plants are frost sensitive.
