Parianware bust of the writer Shakespeare

 Parianware was a late Victorian invention whereby porcelain was combined with some crushed marble and left unglazed .It was meant to resemble marble which was expensive and named after the  island of Paros(Greece) where marble was traditionally quarried.

Finely detailed parian bust of William Shakespeare.Name plaque to front .Upon a round socle.Stands 185mm high.Overall good condition.
