Description: Part of an ancient Roman Glass Flask Ref. GL-11
Maker: Roman
Date: Difficult to estimate, possibly 2nd to 4th Century A.D.
History: This is a glass flask possibly used for perfume. Hand-blown and would have had a longer neck.
Description: Translucent blue-green colour. Slight iridescence on the glass confirms its age. Note the immense number of bubbles in the glass.
Condition: Damaged as shown in the photos. Weather-worn on the outside and not cleaned.
Dimensions: 5.6 cm in height with a diameter of 5.1 cm.
For comparison Google ancient roman glass container and you will see a fair number of different (undamaged) flasks.
