Parthian Kingdom, Pacorus I (78 - 110 AD) silver Drachma as per images.Weight of 3.70gm.Still very nicely detailed with slight toning. Diademed and draped bust of Pacorus left with a long pointed beard,wearing double banded loop and three pendent ends,spiral torque,earring visible and dotted border. Archer seated right,holding a bow. Monogram and pellet below bow. Ecbatana Mint.

We used to know Pacorus (78 - 110 AD) of the Parthian Empire as "the second" because of a Pacorus recorded in 39 B.C but recent scholarship indicates he was only ever a prince and not a king.So,the later Pacorus is now known as Pacorus the first.

The Parthian Empire, also known as the Arsacid Empire,was a major Iranian political and cultural power centered in ancient Iran from 247 BC to 224 AD. Its latter name comes from its founder, Arsaces I.
