Passiflora rovirosae is a decaloba form that is found naturally from Vera Cruz in Mexico to northern Guatemala and Belize where it grows from sea level to some 350 metres. It is a tropical, warmth loving species with attractive flowers and foliage and deep wine red decorative fruit.
Flowers are cream or, light yellow to greenish yellow with a purplish coronal base to some 4 cm. Flowers usually appear in pairs. Fruit is wine red in colour, ridged and to some 10 cm by 3 cm.
Passiflora rovirosae can be flowered in a 20 cm pot, but it can be slow growing and, as a tropical form is hardy only to about 15C.
