Hardcover published 1915 by Smith, Elder & Co, no jacket. The boards are rubbed, marked in places and edge-worn, with bumps to the corners. There is some fraying to the spine covering at both ends of the spine. The name of a previous owner is written in pen on the inside front board, and is stamped again in ink. The first and last end-papers are sporadically foxed / spotted. The title page contains an imprinted "Presentation Copy" in the top right corner. The top external page edges are lightly shelf-dusted, but the pages are otherwise clean and unmarked.
