Paul Kruger Z.A.R. : Three Pence (3d) of 1897 : NGC graded MS 65 (Super Grade) 

I have received a few ZAR coins from an old South African coin collection formed in the first half of the previous century. In the collection was two 1897 Kruger Tickeys that looked superior to anything I have seen before. 

I had them sent to NGC and they both came back MS 65. 

This is a super grade – of the 475 1897 Tickeys graded by NGC there are only 8 in this grade and only two graded higher at MS 66 (one of these sold for R34 000 on an internet auction). 

The MTB Coin Catalogue catalogues the coin in MS65 condition at R28 500.00
