A Medal Marking the Opening in 1973 of the Paul Kruger Museum at his Homested on the Farm Boekenhoutfontein near Rustenburg. The historic site is under the preservation of the Simon van der Stel Foundation. The homested was built by Kruger and completed for his occupation 100 years previously in 1873. Comes inside the original red SA Mint case. The engravers of the medal were Athur L. Sutherland (homestead) and J. Buisett (coat of arms).
A large bronze medal. Diameter 63.7 mm. Mass 86.6 gm. Stamped S.A.M on the edge. In mint condition.
