Sailor Bamboo "Susutake" Maki-e Limited Edition "Tombo" Dragon Fly Fountain Pen
Sailor "Susutake" (Smoked Bamboo) is a special type of Bamboo, original from the roof timbers of old traditional Japanese thatched-roof style houses which was more then 100 years old. The surface of the bamboo comes with natural deep red brown color due to the smoke of the 'Irori' (a traditional Japanese sunken fire). Therefore, each piece is unique, there is no identical piece available. The "Tombo" is a master piece of 'Maki-e' technique. This traditional Urushi lacquering painting process has more then one thousand five hundred years of history, represented the traditional of Japanese art, and culture. For this particular limited edition, it combines the precious materials such as Gold, Silver, and mother-of pearl to decorate the pen barrel and cap. The limited edition was limited 50pcs world wide, fitted with the "Nagahara Cross Emperor" nib. Nagahara Cross nib allows you to write as broad as the BB strokes. At the straight anger holding position, it writes the thinner stroke. The emperor gold bar on the nib serve as the second feeder, allows a better ink flow for the fountain pen. The fountain pen uses the ink cartridge/converter refilling system. The converter is included in the fountain pen as the stock standard. The traditional Japanese pen case and ink bottle is included. The fountain pen is elegantly presented in the Japanese wooden pen case. |
