Pelorus

On offer this Pelorus - used to determine bearings relative to a ships heading of landmarks and/or other ships. It stands 32cm tall and the wooden box holder measures 24.5x24cm, it is 14cm tall to the rim of the box. The instrument balances on the 2 metal holders on the edges of the hole in the box. It is missing a line in the "sight", an extra piece is present that looks like a sight with a line but I do not think it is part of this instrument. A small bend in the metal part of the sight and a small piece of wood has come off the box on one of the joins, though still fully intact. Marked: OFSTAD Registrert, J Gulbransen, Oslo". Weight: 4.95kg.
