What is Water-and-Land Penjing?

Penjing is one of the traditional arts of China and makes use of plants, stone, soil and water. By balancing artistic creation and horticulture a delicate scene from nature can be created, much like those featured in traditional Chinese landscape paintings.

Pots vs Trays

Trays are used as a canvas on which to plant and not pots. The original trays used for planting Chinese Penjing are made from granite. However granite, being a natural stone with grain can easily break under pressure and over time through exposure to the elements. These planting trays look very close to the original granite but are handmade from Caesar Stone.

What is Caesar Stone?

It is a man-made Stone that consists of approximately 95% of quartz. Quartz is very resistant to weathering which is why it is ideal for use as a bonsai planting container. Furthermore, because of this resistance a Caesar Stone planting tray is scratch, stain, heat and chip resistant.

Packaging

Trays are individually wrapped in bubblewrap. They are packed into a double walled carton lined with styrene to reduce the chance of any damage. If damage does occur however my replacement policy applies.
