."California Wonder sweet Peppers" – Capsicum frutescens

This old time favourite produces large bell type peppers that have a sweet flavour with thick tasty crisp flesh. Perfect for stuffing, cooking or salads.

How to Grow: Plant California Wonder Peppers after all danger of frost has passed. Start in seedling trays (see our Plastic Seedling Trays). Add a fresh layer of rich compost to the top soil, then till or spade the bed to loosen the soil and work in the compost. Rake level. Space plants 50cm apart in well drained soil in full sun. Water as needed. During the first few weeks of the growing season cover small pepper plants at night if still cool. Normal time to harvest 75 days.

Harvesting: Harvest by cutting the Peppers from the plant when they have reached full size, or have started to change color. Leaving Peppers on the plant to full maturity may reduce yield.
