 Purira peppers are from Mexico and are known for their colorful display as well as their extreme heat - 400000 Scoville units - making it the 7th hottest chilli in the world. The bushy plants grow to 40 - 90cm displaying 2.5 - 5cm long chillis that ripen from a pale yellow to purple striped then to orange-red when fully ripe.  They make nice container or border plants. The chillis are very tasy, have a wonderful rich flavor but they are extremely hot! Plants have green stems and leaves with white flowers. A rare pepper!
