This is an older, pre-owned, hand knotted Persian Hamedan carpet.  

Please note that refurbished rugs refer to pre-owned Persian Rugs which are anything from 20-70 years old. They are bought in the bazaar in Tehran, cleaned, repaired if necessary, & imported for resale. There is a very big demand for refurbished rugs globally as they are well priced compared to brand new Persian rugs which are just too expensive for many people. They are often used to decorate where a more faded, antique impression is required. As older rugs, they can show wear, or colour variation known as ‘abrash’, however, Persian rugs are known to be strong & durable, & if taken care of properly, can last for a very long time.
