PERU IS WORLD-RENOWNED FOR ITS FINE SILVERWORK. PERUVIAN FILIGREE ARTISANS OFTEN USE 925 SILVER (STERLING) AND EVEN 950 SILVER (95% PURE SILVER), WHICH IS SOFTER, BRIGHTER, AND HIGHLY MALLEABLE.
EACH CLIPON HAS A TWO TINY, HAND-STRUCK STAMPS (FILIGREE AREA IS TO DELICATE FOR MARKS). PERUVIAN SILVER FREQUENTLY FEATURES A SIGNATURE, STAMP OR SYMBOL BELONGING TO A SPECIFIC SILVERSMITH, WORKSHOP, OR LOCAL GUILD.
NO OTHER MARKS WAS FOUND BUT THESE EARRINGS WAS TESTED TO BE STERLING (AND POSSIBLY EVEN 950) SILVER. WE ALSO FOUND AN NEAR IDENTICAL ONLINE MATCH (SEE PHOTO ATTACHED) THAT INDICATES IT IS SILVER.
