A beautiful Pewter tea pot in EXCELLENT condition!
Underneath it is marked: I TYLER - SHEFFIELD - 2008 - 5
In Jack Scott's book "Pewter wares from Sheffield" I (old way of writing capital J - for John) Tyler was active in the years 1836-1869 which makes this tea pot about 170 to 140 years old - a true antique! The style was copied from old Chinese stone ware, the lid knob is bone and the handle has 2 black bone rings - to prevent the handle from getting hot.
Pot height 12.5cm, width from handle to spout 25cm. Weight 846 gram.
I have not polished. It is in MINT CONDITION _ EXCEPT: when filling it with water I found that it leaks under the spout and it has scratches from wear on the bottom (underneath) scalloped rim and the spout has 2 dents near the bottom. For it's age it has really kept well.
SHIPPING R.30.00 incl. insurance.
