Digital PH Meter Buffer Powder

All PH meters has to be re-calibrated in the following conditions:

1. Long period in a status of inactivity, such as 6 months
2. Very frequent usage
3. Testing accuracy is required
4. The Cal (calibration) button was pressed and electrode exposed to the air for a long time

Chemistry:

Three types of PH tester buffer powder are available: 

• PH 4.01@25°C, KHC8H4O4
• PH 6.86@25°C, Na2HPO4
• PH 9.18@25°C, Na2B4O7 - 10H2O

Importance:

1. Calibrate the tester with PH 6.86 buffer powder firstly, then the PH 4.01 or PH 9.18 ones.
2. Should the sample to be tested be acidic, the tester can be calibrated with buffer powder of PH 4.01 and 6.86, while it's alkaline, PH 6.86 and 9.18 ones can be used for calibration. Calibration with these three types of buffer powder is recommended if the tester will be used to test the PH of acid and alkaline.
