This 6d token along with a 3d token that is of identical design was used in the Phoenix Hotel Kimberley in the 1920s
My source is Mr Allyn Jacobs who quotes Mr Peter Bowles and Martin Badenhorst
It was in this hotel during election campaigning in 1929 that Jan Smuts gave his so called Black Manifesto that recommended that South Africa become a federation with other African States.
