Hardcover with dust jacket. Solidly bound and text block is clean. First Edition published in 1938 by Shuter and Shooter, Pietermaritzburg with 126 pages. One colour and eleven sepia plates. D/j unclipped. Frayed around top edges. Two tears on spine panel. Foxing spots mainly to back panel. Name of previous owner on inside of front board. Foxing spots on end pages and visible on page edges when book is closed. This book offers "a survey of one hundred years of an African city." A good addition to any Africana collection. No shipping overseas.
