A fascinating account of life at sea.

Captain Sharp has made his livelihood on the sea for over thirty years. The first part of his book is a collection of yarns about his fellow-sailors: "This shared isolation becomes a common bond, which sharpens the senses and heightens the pleasure of day-to-day happenings on board." The second part deals with his experience in the South African Harbour Service, from the 1950's to the 1970's. 

First published 1972 by TV Bulpin, Cape Town. Condition: Good. Cloth-covered hardboards have slight wear and tear at edges and corners. No jacket.
