The Pineapple Tomato is a massive, bi-coloured heirloom beefsteak variety beloved for its striking "tie-dye" appearance and tropical flavor. These fruits are low in acid & exceptionally sweet
The Name: Its called a "Pineapple" tomato not just for its sweet, citrusy flavor, but because its yellow-orange skin and ribbed exterior resemble a sliced pineapple.
Heirloom Pedigree: These are "open-pollinated" heirlooms, meaning you can save the seeds from your harvest to plant the exact same variety next yeara tradition often passed down through generations.
A "Rainbow" Inside: When sliced, the flesh reveals a stunning marbled pattern of red, pink, orange, and yellow.
Late Bloomers: These plants are "late-season," often taking 8590 days to mature, meaning they are usually the last stars of the summer garden.
Because of their high sugar content and low acidity, Pineapple tomatoes are best enjoyed raw.
Their meaty texture and large size make them the perfect "slicer" for a sandwich.
They are indeterminate, meaning the vines keep growing (up to 8 feet tall!) and producing fruit until the first frost.
Due to their massive weight, they require heavy-duty staking or cages to keep the vines from snapping.
They thrive in full sun (at least 610 hours daily) and prefer warm climates
