THIS PS2 STILL HAS ITS ORIGINAL SONY LASER AND IS IN EXCELLENT HEALTH. THE DISK DRIVE ASSEMBLY WAS THOROUGHLY CLEANED, SERVICED AND LUBRICATED, AND THE LENS CLEANED WITH IPA.

THE LASER HAS BEEN TESTED IN FULL AND CONFIRMED TO PLAY BOTH CD-BASED GAMES (PS1, PS2 CD GAMES) AND DVD-BASED GAMES WITHOUT ANY ISSUES OR STUTTERING DURING FMV'S. 

THIS MODEL (SCPC-70004) WAS THE LAST PS2 SLIM REVISION THAT STILL FEATURED THE FULL PS1 CHIPSET, OFFERING THE BEST PS1 BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY OF ALL PS2 SLIM MODELS.

CONSOLE REFURBISHMENT PROCESS

• Complete disassembly and deep clean of all plastic parts in a soap bath and with IPA where necessary.
• Cleaning of RF Shields with IPA and treatment for corrosion prevention.
• Full inspection of the motherboard.
• Cleaning of motherboard with IPA.
• Replacement of CMOS clock battery.

LASER REFURBISHMENT PROCESS

• Laser disk drive assembly deep clean with IPA
• Laser assembly rails and moving parts cleaned with IPA and greased with high-quality Tamiya grease.
• Cleaning of laser lens with IPA.
