The battery in the unit does not reliably hold a charge, it can sometimes run on battery but otherwise it dies immediately when unplugging it. It works perfectly when plugged into a 5V power supply (not computer, but the included wall power adapter). Would be ideal for a carputer, fixed embedded computer or some other project - it could support an ethernet wired LAN USB adapter as well - or if you could source the replacement 3000mAh battery, which I can't seem to. If you were to remove it from the body shell, it would take a 3.7V lithium battery to power it.
