Poems by Chagall (he wrotemany, in Russian or Yiddish). This splendid work brings together all the poemswritten from 1930 to 1972, translated by Philippe Jaccottet from a version byProfessor Moshe Lazar and with the collaboration of the painter. Two poems aretranslated by Assia Lassaigne. Note that this edition includes 18 unpublishedpoems which appear here in the original edition. The plates reproduce the blackline of the 24 woodcuts of Chagall.
