AT LONG LAST I HAVE THESE ITEMS IN STOCK! **READ THE ENTIRE LISTING TO MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BUYING**
Postage costs are the same whether you order 1 cell or 100 (or even more), since it is still one parcel. These cells measure 156mm x 156mm each. If you are a DIY enthusiast that would like to build your own solar panel, or just do some experimenting with solar power, then these are perfect for you! Since companies are selling solar panels at about R25 per watt, you could save money building a panel yourself, if you can gather the right materials.
This link is for a video on Youtube showing how solar panels are manufactured, very interesting! -

6"x6" Polycrystalline Solar Cells for sale 3.5 - 4.0 watts each - Pre-tabbed, ending at the edge
This listing is for Polycrystalline 6x6 solar cells. The power output ranges between 3.5 watts to 4.1 watts each, average 3.7 watts per cell. There may be some small cosmetic defects on some of these solar cells, small chips or discoloration. Most are perfect. I am working hard to find a reliable supplier for top quality cells! They have tabbing wire pre-soldered on the front and back, ending at the edge of each cell.
Please let me know if you need more info, the listing parameters are too short for me to add everything here.
These 6"x6" solar cells are poly crystalline cells. Polycrystalline solar cells are made from a multi-faceted silicon crystal which produce high efficiency silicon solar cells, at a good price. These solar cells have two bus bars on the front and back.
Note: these cells are very fragile, so handle with EXTREME care when opening the package, moving them around and soldering. (Similar to the rigidity of potato chips)
Cell Specifications:
The standard cell specifications are the following, though the individual cells can be above or below these standards.
Rated power : 3.5 watts - 4.1 watts
Open circuit voltage: 0.610v - 0.621v
Short circuit current: 8.18 amp - 8.78 amp
Operating voltage: 0.488 v - 0.50 v
Operating current: 7.51 amp - 8.14 amp
Weight: Just above 6 grams, or 0.2 oz.
To make a 18 volts panel, for example, you connect 36 cells in series (36 cells times 0.5 volt each = 18 volts). 18 volt panels are 12 volt nominal for 12 volt batteries. 72 cells will be used to build a 36 volt panel (if all cells are connected in series), which are used to charge batteries in a 24 volt system. When connecting cells in series, voltage accumulates, but amperage remains constant. Soldering some in parallel, will have the amperage accumulate and the voltage will remain constant. Series / parallel combinations are also possible to manipulate voltage and amperage ratings, although that makes things a bit more tricky! Happy panel building!!
P.S. - This listing does not include any flux, additional tabbing wire, bus wire, solder wire or diodes. Depending on the amount of cells you buy, I may decide to add some tabbing and bus wire to your order.
