Hardcover polyglot bible, the text being in German (Fraktur script), Latin, Greek and Hebrew, second edition published 1856 by Bielefeld, edited by Drs. Stier and Thiele. This book is the third volume of the first section, being the poetical books of the Old Testament. The boards are worn on the edges and faces, and there is a large clear liquid mark on the reverse. The edges of the pages are lightly soiled, but internally, though aged, they are clean and the binding is still tight. There is a recent small ex-libris stamp on the first end-paper, and another older name written neatly in pen on the inside of the front board.
