The POOF-Slinky 37250BL Ideal Glass Chess Set is a unique and wonderful chessboard set that's ideal for collectors and lovers of the game. Made of clear glass, this playing board features clear and frosted squares with small rubber bumpers on the bottom to prevent sliding and damage to the glass. The playing pieces are made of clear and frosted glass with felt bottoms to avoid scratching and includes everything needed to play. Chess starts with one player having (16) clear glass chess pieces and the other player having (16) frosted glass chess pieces. The chess players move on a square chessboard made up of (64) individual squares and consisting of (32) clear squares and (32) frosted squares. Each chess piece has a defined starting point or square with the clear chess pieces aligned on one side of the board and the frosted pieces on the other. There are (6) different types of chess pieces, each with their own unique way of moving. Chess pieces are used to both attack and defend against the other player's chessmen. The ultimate objective of the game is to capture the opponent's king by trapping the piece to where it cannot move without being taken. Checkmate!
