The Maytronics Mineral Swim V2 Pro10 is a complete residential pool sanitation system combining electrolytic mineral or salt chlorination with ozone purification.
Designed for swimming pools up to approximately 35,000 litres, the Pro10 provides a nominal chlorine production of approximately 10 g/hour.
It is the smaller-capacity option in the Mineral Swim V2 Pro range and is well suited to smaller and medium residential pools where the larger Pro systems are unnecessary.
Instead of relying only on chlorine generation, the system divides the sanitation workload between two technologies.
The Generator Module produces chlorine sanitiser from chloride dissolved in the pool water.
The Purifier Module introduces ozone into the circulating water as an additional oxidation stage.
Together, these two processes provide automatic chlorination while ozone assists with oxidation of contaminants and can reduce the overall workload placed on the chlorine generator.
The system still maintains chlorine as the residual sanitiser in the swimming pool.
Pool water passes through the filtration system before moving through the Mineral Swim sanitation equipment.
The Generator Module uses electrolysis to convert chloride from either:
into active chlorine sanitiser.
The Purifier Module provides an additional ozone treatment stage.
Ozone reacts rapidly with many organic contaminants and then naturally breaks back down into oxygen.
This reduces some of the oxidation workload that would otherwise need to be handled entirely by chlorine.
The Pro10 should therefore not be described as a chlorine-free pool system.
It remains a chlorination system supported by ozone purification.
The Mineral Swim V2 Pro10 produces approximately 10 grams of chlorine per hour.
This makes it suitable for smaller residential swimming pools where chlorine demand is lower than that of larger pools.
The stated maximum capacity of approximately 35,000 litres should be treated as a sizing guideline.
Actual chlorine requirements can vary according to:
South African pools can experience particularly high chlorine demand during hot summer periods, especially where a pool receives extended direct sunlight or heavy use.
Correct system sizing therefore remains important even when the pool falls within the stated volume range.
The Pro10 can operate using either suitable swimming pool salt or compatible Mineral Swim Dead Sea Minerals.
The chlorinator requires chloride in the water to produce sanitiser.
Mineral Swim Dead Sea Minerals provide the mineral pool configuration associated with the Mineral Swim system.
Before adding salt or minerals, the existing TDS or salinity level should be tested.
This is particularly important when converting an existing salt pool because the water may already contain a significant amount of dissolved chloride.
Adding a full new-pool mineral dose without first checking the existing salinity can result in the system operating above the intended concentration.
Mineral Swim Dead Sea Minerals can be used with the Pro10 where a mineral pool setup is preferred.
The minerals are added according to the pool volume and existing salinity level.
They provide the chloride required for electrolytic chlorine generation while also creating the mineral pool water experience associated with the Mineral Swim system.
Mineral Swim Dead Sea Minerals are sold separately unless specifically stated as included in the product package.
The Pro10 Purifier Module introduces ozone into the water treatment process.
Ozone is used as an additional oxidation technology and helps reduce the amount of oxidation that needs to be handled by chlorine alone.
Potential system benefits include:
Ozone acts quickly while the water passes through the purification stage and then naturally breaks down.
It does not remain in the swimming pool as a long-term residual sanitiser.
A suitable chlorine residual must therefore still be maintained in the pool water.
The Mineral Swim Generator Module is responsible for chlorination.
It:
The Generator Module is an important distinction within the Mineral Swim system because it performs the actual chlorine generation function.
The Purifier Module provides the ozone treatment stage.
