The Maytronics Mineral Swim V2 Pro40 is a complete pool sanitation system combining electrolytic mineral or salt chlorination with ozone purification.
Designed for larger residential swimming pools up to approximately 135,000 litres, the Pro40 provides a nominal chlorine output of approximately 39 g/hour, placing it among the higher-capacity models in the Mineral Swim V2 Pro range.
Instead of relying only on chlorine generation, the system divides the water treatment workload between two complementary technologies.
The Generator Module creates chlorine sanitiser from chloride dissolved in the pool water.
The Purifier Module introduces ozone as an additional oxidation stage before the treated water returns to the swimming pool.
Together, these two processes provide automatic chlorine generation while ozone helps reduce some of the oxidation workload that would otherwise be handled entirely by chlorine.
The Pro40 still maintains chlorine as the residual sanitiser required in the swimming pool.
It should therefore not be described as a chlorine-free pool system.

The stated maximum pool volume should be treated as a sizing guideline rather than the only factor considered when selecting the system.

39 g/hour Chlorine Production
The Mineral Swim V2 Pro40 Generator Module has a nominal chlorine production rate of approximately 39 grams per hour.
This higher chlorine output makes the Pro40 suitable for larger residential swimming pools where a smaller chlorinator may struggle to maintain the required sanitiser level during demanding conditions.
The chlorine is generated from chloride already dissolved in the pool water.
The required chloride can be supplied through:
- suitable conventional swimming pool salt
- compatible Mineral Swim Dead Sea Minerals
The Generator Module produces the chlorine residual required throughout the swimming pool while the Purifier Module provides an additional ozone treatment stage.
How the Mineral Swim V2 Pro40 Works
Pool water circulates through the filtration and sanitation system.
The Mineral Swim V2 Pro40 then provides two separate treatment stages.
Stage 1: Chlorine Generation
The Generator Module uses electrolysis to convert dissolved chloride into active chlorine sanitiser.
This chlorine provides the residual sanitiser required throughout the pool.
Stage 2: Ozone Purification
The Purifier Module introduces ozone into the circulating water as an additional oxidation stage.
Ozone reacts with many organic contaminants and then naturally breaks back down.
The treated water then returns to the swimming pool.
This combination allows chlorine generation and ozone purification to work together as one coordinated sanitation system.
Generator Module
The Generator Module performs the primary chlorination function.
It:
- produces chlorine sanitiser through electrolysis
- operates with suitable swimming pool salt or Mineral Swim minerals
- provides the residual sanitiser required in the swimming pool

The Generator Module should not be confused with the Purifier Module.

Purifier Module
The Purifier Module provides the additional ozone treatment stage.

- reduces some of the workload placed on the chlorine generator

Ozone does not remain in the swimming pool as a long-term residual sanitiser.
A suitable chlorine residual must therefore still be maintained.

Manufacturer information states that the ozone purification process can reduce chlorine demand by up to 80% under suitable operating conditions.
Actual reduction depends on factors including:

The 80% figure should therefore be treated as a manufacturer claim under suitable operating conditions rather than a guaranteed result for every swimming pool.
Ozone supplements chlorine sanitation. It does not eliminate the need for chlorine.
