Please note, the replacement of the pump shaft seals should ideally be done by a professional. However, if you choose to replace the seal yourself, please follow these steps:
- Shut down the pool pump motor and disconnect its power supply.
- Open up the pump housing by unscrewing the bolts.
- Remove the impeller by unscrewing the impeller cover and the impeller itself.
- Unscrew the seal plate bolts and remove the seal plate.
- Gently pull out the old seal spring and gasket, then slide out the old seal.
- Clean the area and install the new seal assembly, being careful not to get any dirt or grease on the new seal.
- Screw the seal plate back in.
- Replace the impeller and the impeller cover.
