The Maytronics EcoSwim ES10 is the smaller-capacity model in the EcoSwim chlorination range and is designed for residential swimming pools up to approximately 30,000 litres.
Instead of manually adding chlorine as the primary day-to-day sanitising method, the EcoSwim system uses electrolysis to convert dissolved chloride in the pool water into chlorine sanitiser while the filtration system is operating.
The ES10 provides a nominal chlorine production rate of approximately 10 g/h. This makes it particularly suitable for smaller residential swimming pools where the chlorinator is correctly matched to the actual pool volume, water temperature, exposure to sunlight, filtration period and swimmer load.
The system can operate with suitable conventional pool salt or compatible mineral media. This gives owners the flexibility to run the pool as a conventional saltwater system or as part of a compatible mineral pool setup.

Chlorination and System Operation
Automatic Chlorine Generation
The EcoSwim ES10 generates chlorine from dissolved chloride in the pool water.
When the pool pump circulates water through the chlorinator cell, an electrical process converts part of the dissolved chloride into active chlorine sanitiser. The chlorine then enters the pool circulation system and assists with normal pool sanitation.
This does not make the pool chlorine free. The chlorinator is the method used to produce the chlorine.
Salt or Mineral Operation
The ES10 can operate with suitable swimming pool salt or compatible mineral media.
When changing an existing pool from conventional salt operation to mineral operation, first test the current salinity or TDS. Existing dissolved salts must be taken into account before adding further mineral product.
Automatic Cell Cleaning
The chlorinator cell uses automatic polarity reversal to assist with limiting calcium scale accumulation.
Self-cleaning does not mean maintenance free. The cell should still be inspected periodically, particularly in hard-water areas or pools where the water balance has been allowed to drift.
Standard, Eco and Boost Modes
The supplied EcoSwim platform provides several operating modes.
Standard Mode is suited to normal day-to-day chlorine production.
Eco Mode allows the system to operate at a reduced setting where pool conditions and chlorine demand permit.
Boost Mode is intended for periods where additional chlorine production is temporarily required.
Boost should not be used as a permanent substitute for correct water chemistry, adequate filtration or proper chlorinator sizing.
Pool Sizing and South African Conditions
A maximum pool-volume figure should always be treated as a sizing guide rather than a guarantee for every swimming pool.
Two 30,000 litre pools can have very different chlorine demand.

Do not add salt or mineral media without first knowing the existing concentration in the pool.

The chlorinator depends on water moving correctly through the system.
Poor flow caused by a blocked basket, dirty filter, incorrectly positioned valve or restricted plumbing can interfere with chlorinator operation even when the chlorinator itself is working correctly.
