This coin was issued by Poland in 2003 to honor the 25th anniversary of Pope John Paul II. It bears a denomination of 2 Zloty, or the equivalent of a U.S. half dollar. Each legal tender coin weighs more than a quarter ounce and measures a full 27 millimeters — the same size as a U.S. $10 gold piece. These beautiful and historically significant coins are truly a fitting tribute to his entire life’s work and mission.

Each John Paul II Gold colored commemorative is preserved in original Brilliant Uncirculated Mint condition, the quality most wanted by collectors. The obverse of each coin is sculpted with the beloved image of Pope John Paul II. The simple yet poignant design shows him deep in prayer as his hands are tenderly wrapped around a crucifix. The reverse features the date, denomination and Poland’s heraldic national eagle.
