Pori Tupu (the native term for the bush) is the book of a man who not only knows everything there is to know about African wildlife, but has also a profound experience of the African continent, its wildness, its beauties and its mysteries. Although a professional hunter, Oskar Koenig has always been more concerned to preserve, rather than kill, the animals he so loves and understands. He is among the creators of the immense National Park on the Ngorongoro crater, where animals who would be dangerous in other surroundings live in peace and security.
