Portmeirion Botanic Garden Sweet Pea Teapot

The Portmeirion 'Botanic Garden' range of delightfully bright floral transfer ware pieces was designed by designer Susan Williams-Ellis, daughter of Sir Clough Williams - Ellis , who created the quirky Italian style Portmeirion Village in North Wales.
This pretty and whimsical floral dinnerware, inspired by 19th Century botanical drawings set a the trend for casual dining in the 1970s and today Botanic Garden is still as sought after and just as bright and beautiful.
Perfect for a picnic on a lovely summers day among the butterflies or a spot of afternoon tea and cake with the ladies! It would make a most beautiful gift.
A homage to the Welsh countryside in Summer, it is decorated identically on either side with a delightful flourish of pink and purple Sweet Peas among flitting butterflies and the lid is edged in the well known green leaf wreath.
The species "Lathyrus Oderatus" (Sweet Pea) is marked underneath the floral motif on each side.
This tea pot is is in exceptionally good condition. Near mint, aside from the slight wear to the base. It looks as if it has never been used.
There are no chips, cracks or crazing whatsoever to any of the parts.
