Unusual item. Rough piece, presumably from parcel or large envelope, 1931 (?) Shanghai China to J.H. Hofmeyer, M.P. Houses of Parliament. Address label attached which is torn. Paper has many creases.

"Jan Hendrik Hofmeyr (1894-1948) achieved his B.A.degree from the University of Cape Town when he was 15, he was a professor of Classics at 22, and Principal of the University of the Witwatersrand at 26. At 29, he became Administrator of the Transvaal, then Minister of Finance, Minister of Education, and Deputy Prime Minister to Smuts." http://paton.ukzn.ac.za/GuidetoManuscripts/ListofManuscriptsCollections/J.H.HofmeyrTrust.aspx

Please note, this is not a cover, it is a piece of paper with stamps and address still attached.
